Fall is my favorite time of the year! It's the weather, the hoodies, the extra hour and the apple cider for me! During the month of October I will be featuring some amazing artist and content creators to give us their tips to a funky fresh fall!
First up is wig specialist and makeup artist Tarneisha Lindsay of Lindsey Essentials LLC. Before we get into makeup, let's get to know the artist herself.
What made you become a makeup artist? What’s your inspiration?
I became a makeup artist because I truly enjoy all forms of art. I had conquered self expression in hair but it just wasn’t enough. I have ALWAYS had a big personality but there wasn’t a place for me to express myself the way I truly felt. Makeup does just that for me! I’m a true risk taker! Sitting at a corporate desk years ago with my loud pink lipstick on, I decided it was time to live the life that brings me joy and not feel like I’m working a job. I didn’t want to grow old never truly fulfilling my dreams. I enjoy painting faces and the sparkle it leaves in each clients eyes. Teaching other women how to accomplish enhancing their beauty while understanding makeup doesn’t define how beautiful you truly are is my inspiration.
Any advice to women who are afraid of makeup?
Makeup is art. Just like anything else in the world you must find yourself in it. Book with your favorite makeup artist and learn how to wear makeup based off what you like and want. You may not like lipstick, but lip gloss may be your jam! I will say this, as we age things change and it’s ok to add a little touch to the beauty you already have. I recommend you do it! Looking tired at an event isn’t flattering sis! Pop a touch of concealer under those eyes! Makeup shouldn’t wear you, you should wear it! You only live once!!
What’s your beauty moto?
“Makeup is your art. Celebrate your own individual uniqueness”
So lets get it to it! What look do you have for us today?
From the artist:
Hey, girls! I really wanted to focus on brows, eyeshadow, and lip. I choose a soft sultry look that is quick and easy to achieve and is sure to make any fall outfit pop!

Eyebrows
To achieve a soft natural brow I used Mac's eyebrow pencil styles in Spiked. To keep things natural, use light hair strokes when filling in the brow.
Eye Shadow
I used one eye shadow all over the lid and softly blown out on the bottom lash. The shadow I chose is only slightly darker than my skin tone but if you're looking for more bolder look feel free to go a couple shades darker. Finish the eye with your favorite mascara.
Lips Now that we've played it safe with the shadow, lets step out the box a bit for a more creative lip. Pink is my go to no matter what look because it compliments my skin tone. However, the liner paired will provide the character you’re looking for. I used Mac's Candy Yum Yum and their lip liner in Chestnut. Autumn doesn't mean you have to go dark. Pair you fav summer lip with a darker liner and you're ready to go!
